Zentangle
This is my zentangle project. Instead of doing one continuous pattern, I chose to break it up and do four.

Portfolio Critique
I put my name in the back portfolio and i put a vine through my drawing and had the letters of my name on it. I think this was a creative way to incorporate my name because its still cute and not so bold. I filled the empty space by making each drawing really big. On a scale of 1-10 I rate my portfolio an 8. I wish I could have added more things however I am content with what I have done. What makes my project interesting is how I carried on the theme of plants from the front of my portfolio to the back.

Sa’Nyah Dalmida

This painting
is called “American Gothic” by Grant Wood. This is a portrait of a brother and
a sister standing outside of a house. This was created in the year 1930. This
artist used muted colors in this painting.
In the painting the artist used contrasting
colors. In the front of the painting the artist used dark colors and it
contrasts from the more light background. The shape of the barn is repeated in
the shape of the house. And the shape of the pitchfork is the same shape of the
window. The artist used very detailed
little intriquite designs. From the ridges in house roof, to the ruffles in the
girls sweater, to the wrinkles in the guys shirt.
When I first looked at the photo I
thought that the artist was trying to show what the American dream was all
about like with a husband and a wife and a house. But I soon found out that the
artist just imagined the kind of people that would live in that type of house. I
think it is so cool when you find out what the artwork actually derived from
and how the painter conveyed their thoughts onto the canvas. I feel like we
look at artists like they’re not human but they are just like us.
I was moved by this artwork because
my perception and what the actual meaning behind it was, was different. This
made me connect it back to my real life and how we perceive others and what’s
really going on. You never truly know until you try to take the time to figure
out what’s actually going. Always be careful what you perceive.

Nancy Guinn Frog Artwork
This is my frog. I chose to add some designs in the background to make it look more interesting.
